OPPO R11 Review : Not a Selfie Smartphone?

R11 release to refresh the line of OPPO smartphones. The reason is almost two years of this OPPO crammed Indonesia with Selfie Expert smartphone, the F1 and F3 series.

Advantages

Thin and compact. We all know that the design of OPPO R11 is identical with the iPhone 7 Plus and also used by OnePlus 5. Apart from the issue of trace-plagiarize designs, OPPO managed to design R11 with a fresh design rather than the F1 and F3 series.

If you want to look elegant, we recommend you to buy units that are black or even red. The body is made of metal and feels very slim with a thickness of only 6.8 mm. But we are very uncomfortable when using it without casing because it is very, very slippery. Luckily OPPO includes a free transparent jelly case.

Finally Nougat. Operating system OPPO F1 and F3 series is still stuck with the Android-based ColorOS Marshmallow. Fortunately not so with the R11 has been fresher with ColorOS 3.1 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Display interface is still similar to IOS, especially with the shortcut panel that is now in the bottom of the screen, not up again.

Fresh chipset. Snapdragon 660 is the main reason why we bought OPPO R11. This is the latest and highest-grade chipset that Qualcomm has recently released. The use of it is still very rare. And sure enough, computing performance can rival the upscale chipset Snapdragon 820 or 821. Proven with AnTuTu scores above 110 thousand points.

Screen as needed. Panel AMOLED, Full HD resolution, 5.5 inch span, and coated Gorilla Glass 5. The four things are already sufficient for the needs of a smartphone today. Yes, the screen OPPO R11 unsightly inside and outside the room and is quite scratch resistant.

Dual-camera first. R11 became the first dual-camera smartphone created by OPPO to keep pace with the current trend. Its configuration is similar to OnePlus 5. Its main camera is 16 MP resolution with f / 1.7 and PDAF aperture. The secondary camera beresolusi 20 MP f / 2.6 equipped with 2x optical zoom capability. As usual, both cameras can be active simultaneously (portrait mode).

At first we thought that OPPO R11 is not a special selfie smartphone. Front camera is only one resolution of 16 MP and we predict the quality is not far from OPPO F3 series. But once tampered with, there is a feature that after we try bokeh very satisfactory results.

This bokeh mode can create selfie photos with a neat background blur. The result is more or less the same as Vivo V5 Plus which has two front cameras. The difference OPPO R11 can do it with just one camera. Beautify effects and sharpness of the picture was deserved thumbs up.

Battery OPPO R11 with standard capacity, only 3,000 mAh with SoT about five hours. What we love about it is the VOOC Flash Charge feature that makes battery life fun. Charging 35 minutes filled 65 percent and filling 65 minutes is full.

Deficiency

Performance graphics less kick. We found a hardware bottleneck between the Snapdragon 660 CPU and the Adreno 512 GPU. The CPU may be powered, but the GPU is still lacking in gahar. The smoothness in game play is under Adreno 530 which is integrated with Snapdragon 820/821.

In addition, there are some games that are not the maximum graphics. Call it Asphalt Street Storm Racing where this game so can not display the effects of blur during the race. Though the graphics quality we have set to high.

Without NFC. The design and specifications of OPPO R11 enter the upper middle class segment. Yes, we agree on this. But apparently there is one thing that is very prop of OPO R11 does not have NFC chip.
